Dow Springs Trail

Sycamore Springs Rim Trail

The Sycamore Trail offers a beautiful way to explore the high plateaus of northern Arizona. One of the trail's highlights is the panoramic views of Sycamore Canyon where visitors can catch glimpses of the area's rugged terrain and vibrant colors of the canyon walls. Although the waterfalls and scenery are breathtaking, it is not recommended to hike in winter or after rain/snow due to the potential for mud and flooding. The trail is long and can be difficult to navigate, especially in the last mile or two where cairns must be followed.

Scholz Lake Trail

This is a fun little hike highlighted by a small pretty lake. Garland Prairie Road is a mix of pavement and gravel and suitable for all vehicles. FR-62 is bumpy and rocky, but can be navigated very carefully by a sedan. The trail starts at the left of the sign and starts off narrow and rocky for a quarter-mile until it emerges on the southern shore of the lake. From there, various game paths make their way around the lake. It's mostly a meander.
